The paper presents a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of Eastern and Western health-improving practices in the health improvement of mature people. The paper considers the worldview views on health and their dependence on mentality, traditions, beliefs, living conditions, climatic and other conditions, which contributes to the formation of specific means of health-improving physical culture in any country. Each of these means solves the problems of health improvement in its own way and has its own advantages, which can be used to improve people's health. The effects of oriental health-improving systems are shown and to whom they are more suitable: less prepared, having functional deviations and a large body weight. On the example of Himalayan yoga, the features of the impact of oriental technologies on the state of the body, psyche and personality of the practitioners are revealed.
