The purpose of the study is a comparative analysis of the dynamics of the overall level of self–regulation and mental performance in adolescents with double and cognitive loads during the school year. The empirical part of the work was performed on the basis of the Department of Anatomy of UralSUPC and MBEI Secondary School No. 54 in Chelyabinsk during the 20252026 academic year. The study involved 52 students aged 1314 years. The sample is divided into two groups based on the nature of the dominant load («double» load – n=22, «cognitive» load – n=30). The questionnaire «Style of self–regulation of behavior – SSP98» (V. I. Morosanova) was used to assess the overall level of self-regulation. The Schulte table (modified by Gorbov) was used to assess mental performance. The data was processed using the Python 3.12 programming language in the Google Colab environment. The overall level of self-regulation was consistently higher in the double-loading group on all sections, but no statistically significant differences were found. Mental performance in terms of concentration (Schulte tables) has different patterns of dynamics: in the group with a «double» load, there is an improvement in the middle of the school year and a deterioration at the end; in the group with a «cognitive» load, there is a monotonous deterioration. Self-regulation styles in both groups are mostly ineffective (36– 73 %), which corresponds to the stage of ontogenesis. The data obtained suggest that a combination of educational and sports activities (a dual career path) in adolescence can act as a resource factor contributing to maintaining mental performance and a higher level of self-regulation of behavior.
